Virtual Rifle Systems LLC
The Virtual Rifle Systems barrels are purely aesthetic and are designed to really sell the look and feel of a modern rifle. Although they do not add to the function of the VRS rifle, there is little doubt that they lend to the emersion even before you have the headset on.
Our barrels are manufactured utilizing MJF technology (HP Jet Fusion) with PA 12 Engineering-grade thermoplastic. They are tough, rugged, and make the MKIII look amazing.
The custom barrels are approximately 10.5" long. 0.7" in diameter, and weigh roughly 1.2 oz. The barrels are threaded at each end and easily assembles to the MKIII upper along with any 1/2" 28 threaded muzzle device including the assortment of Virtual Rifle Systems product offerings.
"Fluting refers to the removal of material from a cylindrical surface, usually creating grooves. The main purpose of fluting is to remove weight, and to a lesser extent increase rigidity for a given total weight or increase surface area to make the barrels less susceptible to overheating for a given total weight."
